Impact of Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga on Advancing Equal Opportunities and Development of Vietnamese Women

On August 25, Ha Thi Nga, member of the Party Central Committee and president of the Vietnam Women's Union, presented a Certificate of Merit to Nguyen Phuong Nga, president of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, in Hanoi in recognition of her efforts towards achieving gender equality and advancing the development of Vietnamese women.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ha Thi Nga, president of the Vietnam Women’s Union, expressed her appreciation for the efforts of Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga in promoting gender equality and the development of Vietnamese women. Ambassador Nga has held various positions such as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations, and President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations.

Throughout her career, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga has actively participated in and supported programs and policies of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

She has utilized emulation movements and key tasks of the Union to implement practical and appropriate activities that contribute to the advancement of women.

As a female leader, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga has always prioritized improving the role of women and promoting gender equality at the agencies and units where she works. She focuses on training and nurturing female cadres.

Ha Thi Nga, president of the Vietnam Women’s Union, hopes that Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga will continue to support and collaborate with the Union and Vietnamese women, including engaging in activities with international partners to promote gender equality and women’s advancement.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga expressed her gratitude for receiving the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Women’s Union.

She affirmed her commitment to advancing the cause of gender equality and the development of Vietnamese women, despite not being a member of the Executive Committee or organizations of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

The Ambassador will continue to contribute to the field of training and promote gender equality work.

On the same day, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga met with Vu Viet Trang, General Director of the Vietnam News Agency.

During the meeting, Vu Viet Trang presented Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga with a photo book titled “Diplomat Nguyen Phuong Nga – A Journey to Shine Vietnamese Wisdom and Bravery.”

The photo book highlights over 190 activities of Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga in her roles as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister, Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, and President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations.

In these positions, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga has made significant contributions to the development of Vietnam’s diplomacy in a comprehensive, modern, and proactive manner.
