The city of Da Nang is making the finishing touches to its preparations for the upcoming Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2023), which is scheduled to take place on June 2.

Currently, the stage for the highly anticipated festival has been completed, said Tran Xuan Hung, leader of the DIFF 2023 stage construction team. He noted that the construction process took place over the span of two months, a shorter timeframe compared to previous festivals.

This year, the stage has been decked out with a modern LED laser lighting system, providing the audience with the best views of the entire fireworks display, according to him.

This year, the DIFF stage spans a whopping 1,050 sq.m on the banks of the Han River, situated on Tran Hung Dao street in Son Tra district, with a 5,000-seat grandstand to boot.

Themed “The World Without Distance”, the exciting festival is scheduled to take place from June 2 to July 8.

This year’s exciting event will feature eight teams from the UK, Italy, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, Finland, and Vietnam battling it out over five nights across two months.

Each team will put on a 20-minute performance based on five captivating themes: No Distance Love, Peace for the World, Equality for Human Being, No Limits Innovation, and Sustainable Tourism Development. On the final night – July 8 – the two best teams will compete for the top prize.

Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the municipal Tourism Association, has noted that the DIFF has become a major attraction for both domestic and international visitors. He has proposed that the city and the DIFF organiser request the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include the DIFF in a list of national tourism events with fixed dates, so as to create favorable conditions for tourists to make their travel plans.

Dung also suggested that Da Nang should create an “ecosystem” for the Da Nang International Film Festival (DIFF), providing visitors with quality services to encourage them to spend more, stay longer, and help build the festival’s brand by linking it with the Da Nang trademark as Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination.

According to him, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) has helped the city win recognition as Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination in 2016 and 2022 by the World Travel Awards.

The most successful festival of 2019 was completed with victory for Finland’s Joho Pyro Fireworks, drawing over 1 million visitors. It was an unprecedented success.

Da Nang is a vibrant city that has been gaining a reputation as a top destination in central Vietnam and Asia for its annual fireworks festival. Since 2008, the city has been hosting the fireworks extravaganza, which has been a magnet for the world’s best fireworks producers. Apart from the fireworks, the city also offers a range of attractions that make it a great place to visit and enjoy.

The DIFF has helped the city earn recognition as Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination in 2016 and 2022 by the World Travel Awards.
