ASEAN Tourism Awards Japan 2019 presented to Vietnam’s excellent tours

The ASEAN-Japan Centre’s ASEAN Tourism Awards Japan 2019 were given to 11 tour products to destinations in the ASEAN Member States out of 78 entries. Two tourism products in Vietnam have won the award.

The “ASEAN Tourism Awards Japan 2019” was held to honor excellent, quality tour products to all ASEAN destinations, and 11 tours in 6 categories were awarded including New Destination Award, Luxury Travel Award, Unique Tour Award, Sustainable Tour Award, Mekong Award, and Jury’s Special Award.

The awarded tour was selected after a rigorous judging committee consisting of the Japan Travel Agents Association (JATA), Japan Overseas Tour Operators Association (OTOA), and the Japan ASEAN Center.

The tour “Discover Vietnam in Style with Vietnam Airlines’ Business Class” offers tourists the chance to experience a stylish and luxury getaway across Vietnam over seven days while appreciating Vietnam’s UNESCO World Heritage sites including Ha Long Bay, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary and Complex of Hue Monuments. The tour also enables customers to enjoy the French-influenced Vietnamese cuisine. It successfully packaged high-end tour to Vietmam.

Meanwhile, the 5-day tour “Panoramic Experience in Vietnam” is designed for young, vibrant and active Japanese ladies. Besides the usual tourist attractions, the tour also introduces 20 photogenic spots in Ho Chi Minh City. The package includes conveniently located accommodations.

The ASEAN Tourism Awards Japan was held for the first time in 2018. It is aimed to encourage the Japanese tourism sector to diversify tour products and to further promote the ASEAN Member States as attractive tourism destinations. Vietnam was a winner of the ASEAN Tourism Awards Japan 2018.

Vietnam greeted over 18 million international tourists in 2019, the highest level so far, according to the General Statistics Office.

The number showed a year-on-year rise of 16.2 percent. In 2019, Vietnam also was honored with global prestigious prizes such as the World Golf Awards, the World Travel Awards, and Asia’s Best Destination./.
