A painting exhibition called “Art is long, and time is fleeting” has opened at The Muse Art Space in the heart of Hanoi on March 23rd.

The exhibition, which features 100 works by six artists – Phan Cam Thuong, Nguyen Van Trinh, Trieu Khac Tien, Vu Van Tich, Nguyen Quang Trung, and Nguyen Dinh Son – will run until March 31st.

With paintings on a variety of materials, such as lacquer, silk, oil, and acrylic, as well as various artistic styles, the exhibition takes the viewers on an emotional rollercoaster of imagination.

The exhibition, titled “Art is long and time is fleeting“, is divided into six different sections, each dedicated to one artist, according to curator Van Vi.

Phan Cam Thuong, a painter and cultural scholar, presents his series of silk paintings inspired by ancient Vietnamese culture. Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Trinh showcases his Biosphere series, which combines silk with bamboo paper to create a multi-dimensional biosphere for exotic creatures.

Trieu Khac Tien and Vu Van Tich, known for their lacquer paintings, display their meticulous and delicate artworks. Trieu Khac Tien, the only PhD holder in lacquer art in Vietnam, has contributed to standardizing Vietnamese lacquer painting techniques. Vu Van Tich captures the emotions and desires of young people in his paintings.

Another artist, Nguyen Quang Trung, is dedicated to abstract art, using the “light confinement technique” to create interweaving brushstrokes and colors. Lastly, Nguyen Dinh Son presents his expressionist paintings depicting coastal and suburban life, where small details can unveil a colorful and vibrant world.

In addition to the exhibition in Hanoi, the exhibition will also be held at the HCM City Museum of Fine Arts simultaneously. The opening ceremony in HCM City will take place at 10 a.m. on March 23rd.
