The initiative is in response to the 62nd anniversary of Vietnam Tourism Day on July 9.
The programme aims to affirm the locality’s strong determination to restore tourism activities, elevate it as an attractive destination, and promote unique tourism products.
The event is also seeking to develop Thua Thien-Hue into a safe, friendly, and hospitable destination.
Since the reopening of the tourism industry under the new normal conditions, tourism services throughout the locality have begun to flourish again.
In the first half of the year, Thua Thien-Hue has attracted 771,000 holidaymakers, with most ot them coming from cities and provinces nationwide.
Tourism revenue during the reviewed period is estimated at approximately VND1,566 billion.
Most notably, the Hue Festival Week 2022 from June 25 to June 30 has breathed new life and vitality into the local tourism industry.
The event alone has attracted over 180,000 visitors to Hue
Along with a wide range of activities held to reboot local tourism services, the Vietnamese tourism industry is expected to develop sustainably, making significant contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
Up to 400,000 people visited the eighth Hue Traditional Craft Festival in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue from April 27-May 1, showing a 2.3-fold rise over the previous edition in 2017, according to the organisers.
NDO – The central province of Thua Thien – Hue on January 16 received a certificate recognising the “Zeng” weaving in A Luoi district as part of the national intangible cultural heritage, the second of its kind in the locality.
