An awards ceremony was held by the Vietnam Cinematic Association in Hanoi on December 22 to honour outstanding cinematographic works and artists.
The film “Ho so ca sau” (The Crocodile Profile) by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Mai Hien was honoured with the Best TV series. Meanwhile, the Best Cartoon prize was presented to “Truyen thuyet Guom Than” (The Legend of the Divine Sword) by Meritorious Artist Phung Van Ha.
The Best Documentary Feature went to “Pham Ngoc Thach, nguoi thay thuoc trong nghia thuong dan” (Pham Ngoc Thach, a physician with great compassion for people) by Meritorious Hoang Dung, while the Best Scientific Film title was claimed by “Tac mach xa tri” (Occlusion in radiotherapy) by director Ha Xuan Truong.
“Mot coi di ve” (A realm of return) by Tran Thi Ha Trang took the top honour in the Short Film category.

The organising board also presented Silver Kite Awards, certificates of merit from the Vietnam Cinematic Association, and individual prizes including the best screenwriter, best director, best cameraman, best fine art designer, and best actor/actress.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinematic Association Do Lenh Hung Tu said that the entries are diverse in topics and contents as well as techniques, sounds and modern acting.
The Golden Kite Awards 2020 attracted a total of 141 works, including 12 feature films, 16 TV series, 60 documentaries, 12 scientific films, 20 cartoons, 18 short films, and three cinematographic research, theory and criticism works.
