Visitors to the stunning Phu Yen Province in south-central Vietnam should not miss out on the unique experience of attending one of the many tuna parties taking place at local tourist sites during the upcoming holiday season. The upcoming five-day holiday lasts from April 29th to May 3rd to celebrate Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day (April 29th), Reunification Day (April 30th), and International Workers’ Day (May 1st).
To cater to tourists during this special occasion, the coastal province of Tuy Hoa has organized a range of events, particularly tuna parties at major tourist attractions in the provincial capital city, according to Cao Hong Nguyen, the head of the tourism management division at the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, on Sunday.
On the evenings of April 30 and May 1, the Stelia Beach Resort and the Apec Mandala Phu Yen will host an extravagant buffet party, showcasing the skillful filleting of tuna. Guests will be able to choose from a wide array of delicious tuna dishes prepared by the expert chefs. Meanwhile, the Sala Grand Tuy Hoa Hotel will open a rural-style market and present a lavish buffet party. Both events promise an unforgettable gastronomic experience for all attendees!
Ta Van Tho, the General Manager of the Apec Mandala Phu Yen Hotel, has revealed that Phu Yen is the birthplace of tuna fishing in Vietnam. This region is known for its wide variety of delicious tuna recipes.
Besides savoring delicious tuna dishes, guests will have the opportunity to witness chefs displaying their tuna filleting and cooking skills in person, Tho added.
According to a representative from Stelia Beach Resort, its gala dinners will not only offer demonstrations of tuna filleting and cooking techniques, but also feature art performances.

Tourism businesses in Phu Yen province have made thorough preparations for the upcoming holiday, ensuring they have an adequate number of vehicles to transport tourists and offering various tours to enable tourists to experience the local cultural and historic destinations. Nguyen noted that these preparations will help visitors to get the most out of their holiday in the province.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has urged tourism service providers to abide by regulations regarding food safety, hygiene, and pricing when providing services to tourists. It is essential that these standards are followed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Nguyen added that the province is anticipated to welcome around 40,700 tourist arrivals during the coming holiday, representing an increase of 38% compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, the province is projected to earn VND80 billion (approximately US$3.4 million) in revenue, which is a 60% rise on the year-on-year figure.
Major hotels and coastal ones in Tuy Hoa City have recorded around 90-100% of their rooms booked for the holiday, while lots of rooms at smaller hotels are still available for booking, the official said.
