The photos that won the silver are “Man walking a camel on the sand” in the Exotic Travel category; “Sahara Desert in sunrise” in the Classic Landscapes category; and “A bookseller in Rabat” and “A friendly shoemaker” in the Emotive Portraits category. Van took these photos during his trip to Morocco in September this year.
Meanwhile, the photo “Take off” that he took in Havana, Cuba, received a bronze medal.
The competition has attracted the participation of hundreds of well-known photographers from all over the world, including the world-renowned Belgian photojournalist Alain Schroeder.
Van has won multiple awards at Better Photography, Australia. In 2022, the photographer received three silver and two bronze awards.
Last September, he was among the recipients of the Honorable Mentions at the 20th International Photography Awards (IPA) 2023 of the US.
Van started his photography journey in 1998 and has since won over 80 international photography prizes. He has also served as a judge at various film festivals and photography contests in Vietnam.
Ha Long Carnival opens in Quang Ninh
The Ha Long Carnival, a highlight of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism week 2019, opened in Bai Chay and Hon Gai tourism area in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 28.
