Creating the ‘Dance of Light,’ 37-year-old Huyen aimed to demonstrate the image of fire by utilizing various types of flowers with purple and yellow hues. She wanted to captivate her audience with the vibrant colors and unique combination of the blooms. With her ingenuity and creative vision, Huyen crafted a mesmerizing display of flowers that mimicked the flames of a fire. Her audience was awed by the beauty of it all, and her ‘Dance of Light’ became a stunning success.

She also used natural light to illuminate a lamppost decorated with beautiful flowers, creating an eye-catching display.

It is worth noting that her design adhered to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s green standards by not using any plastic items, aligning with the focus on sustainability and environment-friendly gardening. To be eligible for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which is considered the final world competition of flower arrangements for florists, Huyen spent six months preparing and submitting her floral designs for review by the organizers.

Huyen was an employee of Schlumberger Ltd., a renowned oil and gas company based in Singapore, before transitioning to a career as a professional floral designer. With her background in the energy sector, Huyen brings a unique perspective to her designs, creating stunning floral arrangements that are both aesthetically pleasing and technically complex. Huyen is passionate about helping others express themselves through her designs, and takes pride in the knowledge that her work can bring joy to her clients.

She initially developed a passion for flower arrangements when she began receiving weekly bouquets from her beloved husband.

To express her appreciation and seek relief from her stressful job, she decided to pursue her passion for floral design and eventually turn it into a professional career. With a newfound sense of purpose, she dedicated her time and energy to mastering the craft, ultimately succeeding in the pursuit of her dreams. Now, she is able to bring joy to others through her creative and beautiful designs.

Her love for flowers blossomed into a true passion after attending a professional floral arrangement course at Nobleman School of Floral Design in Singapore. There, Huyen was able to put her creative flair into crafting beautiful designs.

Later, she decided to take on the challenge of participating in the Singapore Garden Festival 2016. Through four qualifying tournaments, she eventually won one of the two silver prizes (there was no gold prize) offered at the competition.

This success motivated her to keep pursuing her dream of becoming a professional florist.

Now, with the coveted silver prize from the esteemed Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show, she is eligible for specialized training to become an international judge for floral arrangement competitions, her long-term aspiration.
