Nhat is the last Vietnamese representative in the ring after his compatriot Duong Thuy Vi won a wushu gold last week and the others were ousted from billiards, wushu, and beach handball.

The World Games refer to an international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that are not contested in the Olympic Games.

While originally scheduled for July 2021, the 2022 World Games, the 11th edition of the event, were held from July 8 to 18, 2022 (Vietnam time) in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, due to the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
