The festival, the second of its kind in Vietnam, will introduce five movies from Morocco, the Ivory Coast, Haiti, Senegal, and Belgium. These movies are expected to provide moviegoers with a greater insight into the natural landscapes and people of Africa. The films have all received several awards at prestigious film festivals from around the world and will be screened for free at the Vietnam Film Institute. Both Vietnamese and French subtitles will be available for viewers.

The event will be co-organised by the Embassies of Morocco in Vietnam, the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF)’s Asia-Pacific Office, the Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation to Vietnam, and the French Institute in Vietnam. The first festival was held in the country in 2022.

Launched in 1969, FESPACO is one of the largest African festivals. It takes place biennially in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso.
