Although both teams are considered leading teams in Southeast Asia, many experts assessed that Thailand was at a much higher level than Vietnam in this match.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s team this year has many talents, namely Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh, and Doan Thi Lam Oanh.
Meanwhile, Thailand has a mixture of young players and experienced athletes, namely Chatchu-on Moksri, Pornpun Guedpard, Piyanut Pannoy, Pimpichaya Kokram, and Hattaya Bamrungsuk.
Thailand proved their strength right away in the first game, taking the lead the entire time before ending with a score of 25-19.
The Vietnamese women had their best performance in the second match when they managed to surpass their Thai opponents most of the time.
However, the Thai players had an amazing comeback in the decisive moment and ended the neck-and-neck game 26-24.
Thailand continued to overwhelm Vietnam in the third game and won it with a score of 25-18.
The match concluded 3-0 in favor of Thailand.
Vietnam lost its chance to win its first-ever bronze medal at the Asian Women’s Volleyball Cup.
Meanwhile, this is the third consecutive time Thailand won the bronze medal at the championship.
The Asian Women’s Volleyball Cup is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the top senior women’s national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
The tournament has been held every two years since 2008.
Japan won the championship title for the first time at this year’s tournament, while China came in second place.
