The night sky over Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa illuminated with a spectacular drone festival, showcasing ancient wonders, cultural landmarks, and local beauty. The event, a dazzling display of technology and art, featured renowned Vietnamese singers and international drone teams from the UAE, France, the Republic of Korea, and China, each presenting their unique take on this modern art form.

The French team captivated the audience with a thousand-drone performance, recreating ancient world wonders. From the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to the Great Wall of China, their show transported viewers through time and space. Ha Long Bay, a natural wonder of Vietnam, was also featured, showcasing the country’s stunning scenery.

The UAE team, self-styled “Light Wizards,” cast a spell with their innovative use of ultra-lightweight drones and fireworks. Their performance celebrated Vietnamese culture, with coffee filters, Dong Son drums, dragons, and lotus flowers taking center stage. They also highlighted the vibrant landscapes of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa, presenting the region as a must-visit tourist destination.

The Republic of Korea, known as the “Fireworks King,” presented a unique drone and silent fireworks show, blending traditional Vietnamese and Korean music with cutting-edge technology. Meanwhile, the Chinese team, renowned for their technical skills, delivered a grand visual spectacle set to popular Vietnamese songs, capturing the modern and historical allure of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa.

The festival, which began on July 13, 2024, was a tremendous success, with teams dazzling audiences and judges alike. The RoK won the award for Best Technical Performance, France for Best Imagery, and China for Best Storytelling. Two Guinness World Records were also set: France for the “Largest Light Show of Global Wonders” and the UAE for the “Largest Light Show of Vietnamese Cultural Symbols.”

Mr. Dinh Van Thieu, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, emphasized the festival’s positive impact on tourism and the region’s economic growth. He shared plans to potentially make the festival an annual event, further promoting Khanh Hoa as a desirable tourist destination.

The event attracted high occupancy rates in local hotels and garnered significant media attention, with tens of millions of live viewers and over 5 million social media interactions. With nearly 2,000 news articles covering the festival, Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa has firmly established itself as a prominent global tourism destination.
