Da Nang, Vietnam – The Da Nang Department of Tourism has ambitious plans for the cruise tourism industry. By 2025, the city aims to implement strategies to attract a significant number of cruise ship tourists, effectively tapping into this market segment.

Forecasts predict a notable surge in sea arrivals to Da Nang this year. Tien Sa Port is anticipated to host 76 cruise ships, a substantial increase of 41 ships from 2024, carrying an estimated 70,000 passengers, reflecting a 64% year-on-year growth.

On February 24, the city welcomed 2,400 international tourists aboard the Adora Cruise, which docked at Tien Sa Port. The Adora Cruise, the largest cruise line in China, boasts a capacity of 5,600 passengers, rivaling prominent international lines such as Costa and Royal Caribbean.

To ensure foreign tourists have exceptional experiences, the Da Nang Department of Tourism has coordinated with various agencies, organizations, and cruise companies. This collaborative effort has resulted in enhanced security and order, along with convenient pick-up and drop-off points for tourists at the port and APEC Park.

Additionally, the department has introduced novel tourism products, provided informative brochures, and offered complimentary details about Da Nang’s tourism attractions, thereby projecting an image of Vietnam as a welcoming and hospitable destination to international visitors.

The city’s accommodation sector thrived in January, serving an estimated 719,000 guests, including over 393,000 international tourists, marking a 19% and 29% year-on-year increase, respectively. Revenue from accommodation, dining, and travel services during the month exceeded 2.6 trillion VND (approximately 101.9 million USD), an impressive 18% rise.

For the entire year, Da Nang targets welcoming 11.9 million visitors, including 4.8 million foreign tourists, representing a 10% and 17% year-on-year increase, respectively. These goals showcase the city’s commitment to sustainable tourism growth and its dedication to providing memorable experiences for all travelers.
