Hanoi’s People’s Committee has approved Sun Group Joint Stock Company’s ambitious plan to rejuvenate the To Lich River, aiming to convert the polluted river into a vibrant green space.

Authorities have instructed relevant units to devise sophisticated technological solutions to clean the riverbed and restore its bottom. Additionally, further research will explore the river’s potential as a water storage area during flooding, integrating this concept into the broader Capital Drainage Planning.

In a separate development, the municipal People’s Committee has also given a nod to a wastewater system project for the iconic West Lake. With an estimated budget of over 99 billion VND (3.88 million USD) funded by Tay Ho district, the project will span from 2025 to 2027.

This initiative will establish a comprehensive wastewater collection system and pumping stations, connecting to the existing West Lake wastewater network in two phases. By doing so, it lays the foundation for a separate and efficient wastewater drainage system for the lake’s surrounding area, addressing drainage and environmental concerns.

The project promises to enhance the local environment, ensuring that West Lake remains a pristine and ecologically sustainable landmark for generations to come.
