A stunning artwork by master artisan Byeol Ha, President of the Korean Hangeul Design Association, showcases the beautiful lotus and eternal blossom of Korea, the mugung flower. This piece symbolizes the strong and positive relationship between the Republic of Korea and Vietnam.
Hangeul, created by King Sejong in 1443, has been an integral part of Korean culture for over five centuries. Its evolution over the years mirrors the journey and soul of the Korean people.
At the opening of the three-month exhibition, Director of Vietnam’s National Library, Nguyen Xuan Dung, remarked, “This exhibition and the MoU signify our shared dedication to fostering cultural understanding and academic exchange. It provides a platform for scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts of Hangeul from both nations to engage, exchange ideas, and enrich our respective cultures.”
The Hangeul Design project, launched in Korea in 2016, offers a fresh perspective on traditional values through design. It inspires contemporary visual and applied arts, shedding new light on ancient traditions.
The Director of the Korean National Hangeul Museum, Kim Il-hwan, announced the institute’s first-hand arts experience program. This program enables learners of the Korean language to create their own artistic expressions titled ‘The Beauty of Hangeul.’
The museum aims to extend this experience to a broader audience, including Korean language programs in colleges, universities, and cultural centers across various provinces in Vietnam.
The exhibition will be on display at the Hanoi-based national library until August 9th.
