According to organizers, the Sen village festival 2020 will be held in Kim Lien commune of Nam Dan district in the central province of Nghe An from May 15 to 19. The event will be carried out with utmost solemnity and strict adherence to measures aimed at preventing and controlling the spread of COVID-19, in line with guidance from the Ministry of Health.

The festival, which is part of the activities commemorating President Ho Chi Minh’s 130th birthday on May 19, will feature a range of cultural activities. These include offering flowers at Uncle Ho’s statue in Ho Chi Minh square in Vinh city, an incense offering to Uncle Ho at his memorial in the Kim Lien relic site, and a painting exhibition for visitors to enjoy.

This year’s festival will not include activities such as a parade to Uncle Ho’s home, opening and closing ceremonies, a singing contest, a sports competition, and film screenings. The volleyball tournament originally scheduled for the event will be postponed, with the new date to be announced later.

The Sen village festival, first held in 1981, serves as a way to express the nation’s gratitude and respect towards President Ho Chi Minh.
