The festival is part of a series of tourism promotion events in 2024, organized by the municipal Department of Tourism. The second edition of the festival will take place at Saigon Cruise Port, Hiep Phuoc Port, and other tourist venues in the city. Its main goal is to showcase the city’s river-based tourism products and enhance waterway transport services. The city is currently focused on developing unique tourism products and services to attract both local and international travelers. The first edition of the river festival, which took place in 2023 from August 4 to 6, attracted 51,000 visitors. The festival featured various art performances and programs at key locations such as the Saigon Cruise Port, Bach Dang Wharf Park, Binh Dong Wharf, Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal, and other tourist sites across the city. Visitors enjoyed special spaces like ‘At the Wharf, on the Boat’ in the Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal area and Binh Dong Wharf, as well as an outdoor art show titled ‘Saigon – River Tells Stories.’
