The organizers of the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, an upcoming major event in the tourism industry, are gearing up for its grand opening. This event, themed “Hue – The Ancient Capital, New Opportunities,” is expected to showcase the cultural essence of Hue, the former imperial capital.
Hue Prepares for the Grand Tourism Event in 2025
The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 is a significant cultural, economic, social, and tourism event that carries national and international importance. It coincides with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Hue City, making it all the more special. Throughout the year, over 160 national and provincial-level activities will be held, with participation from various provinces and cities. Eight of these events will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with central agencies.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for March 25, and Hue City is pulling out all the stops to ensure a successful event. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee, shared that they are developing a project titled “Tourism and Tourism Service Development in Hue City for 2025-2030 with a Vision to 2045.” The National Tourism Year 2025 will be a catalyst for this initiative. Additionally, Hue has seamlessly integrated the activities of the National Tourism Year with the Hue Festival 2025.
To promote the event, the Hue City People’s Committee is finalizing details such as the script, stage setup, and guest invitations. They are also enhancing media and promotional efforts, paying close attention to the March 25 opening ceremony to ensure a memorable and well-organized start to the celebrations. The opening program aims to showcase the cultural soul of the ancient capital, and significant investments are being made to make it a success.
Accelerating Hue’s Tourism Sector
The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 is a pivotal event for the city’s tourism industry, offering immense opportunities for growth and socioeconomic development. As Hue has been recognized as a centrally governed city, hosting this event is a crucial step in establishing a sustainable development strategy that preserves and promotes its imperial heritage and cultural identity.
Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Head of Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), emphasized the importance of effective communication and promotion. He highlighted that Hue has adopted the logo and slogan for the National Tourism Year 2025: “Hue – The Ancient Capital, New Opportunities.” Sieu stressed the need to increase media visibility across publications and digital platforms and consistently publicize all related activities to ensure their inclusion in tour packages.
As part of Vietnam’s 2025 tourism stimulus program, VNAT has developed incentive packages to be promoted on the official tourism stimulus platform, including the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025. VNAT Head Ha Van Sieu encouraged Hue authorities to collaborate proactively with other provinces, ministries, and agencies to further promote the event and facilitate connections for hosting activities.
Nguyen Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts, offered insights into the event planning, suggesting that Hue showcase its unique “specialties,” such as cuisine, culture, and arts, during the opening night. He also recommended properly arranging performances by domestic and international art troupes to ensure a harmonious cultural exchange that highlights Hue’s rich cultural heritage.
The National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 is seen as a golden opportunity for Hue’s tourism industry to thrive and drive economic development. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, emphasized the need for meticulous planning and execution in organizing the event. He also suggested that Hue introduce new tourist offerings and establish new flight routes to take full advantage of the National Tourism Year 2025, fostering business partnerships and sustainable tourism initiatives for long-term growth.
