The remark was made by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc while attending a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Kim Dong Publishing House on June 17.
The event also featured the participation of leaders from a number of ministries, departments and branches, painters, writers, poets, many students, and generations of staff of Kim Dong Publishing House.
Speaking at the ceremony, the State President emphasised that the birth of Kim Dong Publishing House is an important milestone, demonstrating the special and profound attention of the Party and State to the young generation.
The President highly appreciated Kim Dong Publishing House for successfully advancing and transforming in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which changed the entire “knowledge industry”, from market approach, process publishing and publishing method to reading method, receiving from readers, and publication management.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested a development strategy for Kim Dong Publishing House in the coming time.
The President also asked Kim Dong Publishing House to increase publications with humanistic values, educate the young generation, and contribute to building core values and good character among Vietnamese children.
Emphasising that the development of reading culture in the community is important in intellectual development, education and training of human personality, the President reminded children to read books diligently and consider each book as a companion, a teacher who provides knowledge and understanding to become a useful citizen for society.
On this occasion, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc proposed that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee continue to promote its role as the governing body for publishing, leading, directing and promoting the strength of the system of agencies.

Before attending the ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited an exhibition space titled “Achievements of 65 years of development of Kim Dong Publishing House”, with many images and artifacts honouring famous authors and works associated with the publishing house.
This space will welcome readers to visit from June 20 to 24.
