The Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Antonio Alessandro, expressed his desire for Italy and Vietnam to collaborate in the growth of golf tourism during a presentation in Hanoi this week to promote the 44th Ryder Cup 2023, one of the world’s most renowned golf tournaments. He highlighted the potential that the two countries have to benefit from the event and the opportunities that it can bring to their citizens. He also stated that the Ryder Cup is an ideal platform for strengthening the relationship between the two countries and further developing their ties. Both countries could benefit greatly from the increased tourism, job opportunities, and investment that would result from promoting the Ryder Cup and golf tourism.
The Italian Embassy in Vietnam held a presentation on Thursday to introduce a range of activities that support the Ryder Cup 2023. This biennial men’s golf competition, which sees teams from Europe and the U.S. battle it out, is to be held in Italy for the first time from September 29 to October 1 at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome.
Vietnam is the only country in Southeast Asia chosen by the Organizing Committee for the Ryder Cup 2023 to be the launch point for its promotional activities.
At the presentation, Ambassador Alessandro expressed his desire for Italy and Vietnam to collaborate in creating golf tourism programs. With this joint effort, he envisioned a future where travelers from around the world would be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and stunning courses of the two countries. Not only would this bring in much needed revenue to both countries, but it could also help to further deepen the ties between them. By furthering their shared commitment to golf tourism, they would be able to ensure that their partnership continues to flourish.
The ambassador revealed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that he had recently held a meeting with the director of the Italian National Agency for Tourism, who was currently in Vietnam.
One of the key objectives of the trip was to investigate and create collaborative opportunities between Vietnam and other countries in the realms of sports and tourism, Ambassador Alessandro stated.
The diplomat firmly asserted that golf is a significant area of collaboration in the advancement of sports tourism between the two countries.
The esteemed ambassador joined a panel of speakers to discuss the prospects and obstacles related to organizing large-scale golf tournaments and cultivating the golf culture in both Italy and Vietnam. By delving into this subject, the group aimed to understand how to maximize the potential of the game in both countries.
As part of the activities promoting the upcoming Ryder Cup 2023 and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic relations, the Vietnam Golf Service Group will be hosting a Vietnam-Italy Golf Tournament at the Long Bien Golf Club in Hanoi next Monday. Quarantine services: gold mine for golf tourism
