The Binh Dinh provincial Department of Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, hosted a yoga event with the theme “One World, One Health.” The event highlighted the physical and mental health benefits of yoga and commemorated the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2024). It also aligned with the campaign to encourage all citizens to follow the example of President Ho Chi Minh and engage in regular exercise for a healthier lifestyle.
Bui Trung Hieu, deputy director of the department, spoke at the event, emphasizing that it served as an opportunity to strengthen the bond of friendship and cooperation between the province and the Indian Consulate General, as well as between the people of Vietnam and India. He also noted that such cultural exchanges lay the foundation for deeper connections between the two nations.
Following the opening ceremony, over 400 members from yoga clubs across Binh Dinh province came together to perform “Moon Yoga, Moon Salutations,” also known as Chandra Namaskar in Sanskrit. It was a beautiful display of unity and a testament to the growing popularity of yoga in the region.
Binh Dinh is one of the top 40 provinces and cities selected by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to host the 10th International Yoga Day in 2024. This is a great honor and further emphasizes the strong cultural ties between India and Vietnam.
