Hoi An’s famous ancient town was submerged in rainwater following Typhoon Noru making landfall in Vietnam on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, while touring the ancient town, many international tourists noticed trash clogging the waterway near An Hoi Bridge, and many of these visitors chose to help clean up the waste.

Photographer Mai Thanh Chuong, who specializes in photographing Hoi An Ancient Town, shared that on Wednesday morning, while photographing the city he saw a number of foreigners helping locals clear uprooted trees, tree branches, and garbage.

According to a survey conducted by the Hoi An City People’s Committee, approximately 500 foreign visitors were staying in Hoi An during Typhoon Noru, in addition to a large number of long-term expats.
