Tabarot, who was in Hanoi for a working visit, underscored France’s prowess in transportation and expressed a strong commitment to backing Vietnam in executing strategic infrastructure projects. This includes human resource development, technology transfer, and knowledge-sharing to enhance services.

The French Minister briefed Prime Minister Chính on the outcomes of his productive working session with the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction, as well as the French delegation’s activities. This included co-hosting a Vietnam-France high-speed railway seminar with the Ministry of Construction.

In response, Prime Minister Chính welcomed Minister Tabarot’s statement and emphasized Vietnam’s focus on transport infrastructure development as one of its three key strategic breakthroughs. This encompasses road, rail, aviation, maritime, and inland waterway projects.

By enhancing transportation infrastructure, Vietnam aims to spur industrial and urban growth, reduce logistics costs, and boost its economic competitiveness on the global stage.

Prime Minister Chính highlighted the longstanding transportation cooperation between the two nations, including the historic North-South railway and the construction of several airports in Vietnam. Airbus remains the primary aircraft supplier for Vietnamese airlines, and the Nhon-Haoi Station metro line project exemplifies the ongoing collaboration in the railway sector.

The Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam’s dedication to overcoming institutional challenges to accelerate project implementation. He encouraged further cooperation with France based on mutual sincerity, trust, and tangible benefits for both nations.

Additionally, Prime Minister Chính proposed collaboration with Airbus in several key areas. This includes technology transfer, establishing aircraft maintenance facilities at Vietnamese airports, and fostering the development of underground, maritime, and aerospace industries.

He also suggested expanding direct shipping routes between Vietnam and France and strengthening public-private partnerships for road development.

Minister Tabarot commended Vietnam’s development achievements and concurred with Prime Minister Chính on the importance of solidifying transportation cooperation between the two countries.

He conveyed President Emmanuel Macron’s high regard for Vietnam and expressed the President’s desire to visit Hanoi when the opportunity arises.
