The event is jointly organised by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism together with the Ninh Binh People’s Committee.

This is the main activity in the first "Vietnam International Photography Festival", to celebrate the 2021 National Tourism Year organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said the exhibition is expected to promote the images of Vietnam’s landscapes and people, as well as strengthen international exchanges via photography.

The photographers receive medals at the photo exhibition "Vietnam through the lens of international photographers".

As many as 177 works captured by 93 photographers are being showcased. They were chosen from a total of 1,567 entries submitted by 98 professional and amateur photographers from over 19 countries and territories.

The exhibition is open to visitors free of charge at the Library of Ninh Binh province, and also available on the department’s website at http://ape.gov.vn./. It will run until December 3.

The Vietnam International Photography Festival is a biennial event aiming to build the national brand for Vietnamese photography, popularise the country’s charms and people, and bolster international exchanges and cooperation through photography.
