The 2021 National 3×3 U23 Basketball Championship wrapped up after three successful days from December 10 to 12 in south-central Khanh Hoa Province, but the collision between Vo Kim Ban of XSKT Hau Giang 1 and Dinh Nhat Thanh of Ha Noi 1 remained an unforgettable moment.
Many players and coaches expressed displeasure with Thanh’s action, which caused Ban to hit his face on the ground and tear his chin.
Ban needed multiple stiches for his wound.
Despite Ban’s injury, XSKT Hau Giang 1 still managed to snatch the gold medal in the championship.

One day after the tournament ended, Thanh met Ban in person to extend his apology.
The moment the two players shook hands was also widely shared on social media.
The Hanoi Buffaloes coach Phan The Vinh also apologized to Ban on behalf of Thanh and his team as well as congratulated XSKT Hau Giang 1 on winning the championship title.
Many players and coaches also supported Thanh’s intention to make amends and sent their congratulations to Ban and his team for their achievement.
