The Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, emphasized at the conference that domestic tourism stimulation is currently the top priority for the tourist industry.

Throughout the year, various tourism stimulation programs have been implemented in different regions of the country, effectively promoting tourism destinations and attracting visitors.

Phu Quoc, also known as the pearl island, has emerged as a popular holiday destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. This year, the involvement of key opinion leaders (KOLs) is a new aspect of the tourism stimulation and advertising activities in Phu Quoc.

According to Tran Chi Dung, the Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, despite the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the locality has received approximately 2.9 million visitors in the first ten months of 2020. It is expected that the number of arrivals in Phu Quoc will exceed three million by the end of the year.

Currently, the province is collaborating with other regions across the country, including Ho Chi Minh City, to attract an increasing number of visitors.

In addition, many hotels and entertainment destinations in Phu Quoc have implemented preferential and discount programs specifically for domestic tourists.
