He conveyed the eagerness of US businesses to understand Vietnam’s strategies for sustainable tourism, digital transformation within the industry, and the enhancement of e-commerce and digital payments.

Testimonials from Hollywood film crews who have previously worked in Vietnam spoke volumes about the warmth of the local people and the robust support extended by the authorities. The visually stunning depictions of Vietnam in these films have left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide, according to Ted Osius.
He further expressed a desire for increased direct flights between the two countries, streamlined procedures for Hollywood productions in Vietnam, and expanded cooperation in the cultural, sports, and tourism arenas.
US Businesses Pledge Support for Vietnam’s Smart Tourism Endeavors
Representatives from US businesses reaffirmed their dedication to bolstering Vietnam’s tourism development. The Marriott Group, for instance, applauded Vietnam’s recent visa policy reforms, which boost tourism growth, and pledged their ongoing support to the Vietnamese hospitality industry.
Apple, another key player, underscored Vietnam’s immense tourism potential, emphasizing the pivotal role of digital platforms and transformation. They suggested that fostering an environment conducive to content creators and game developers would further unlock growth opportunities.
Warburg Pincus offered insights by suggesting a focus on health and wellness tourism. They cited the Grand Ho Tram Resort as a successful example, emphasizing the allure of world-class entertainment and leisure facilities in enhancing Vietnam’s regional competitiveness.
To propel Vietnam’s tourism sector into the digital age and amplify its global appeal, US businesses proposed collaborative efforts in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics for understanding tourist behavior, forecasting trends, and optimizing marketing strategies.
Additionally, the potential for cooperation in electronic payment platforms and e-wallet solutions was highlighted, aiming to simplify transactions for international visitors. VR and AR tourism collaborations were also proposed to elevate digital travel experiences and showcase Vietnam’s destinations to a global audience. Furthermore, the idea of fostering a TravelTech startup ecosystem by connecting Vietnamese tourism startups with US investors was presented.
US business representatives reiterated their commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to expand international markets for Vietnamese cultural exports and facilitate local businesses’ access to state-of-the-art digital content production technologies.
Deputy Minister Ho An Phong warmly received the proposals from the US-ASEAN Business Council. He assured the Council of the Ministry’s dedication to facilitating US investment in Vietnam’s tourism and cultural industries. The Deputy Minister also expressed his hope for continued support from the Council in areas such as human resource development, digital technology advancement in tourism, and the promotion of cultural exchange between the two nations. |
