Nguyen Quang Thieu, President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, shared this information at a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the two parties in Hanoi on October 15.

According to Thieu, the MoU signing marks a significant step forward in the friendly collaboration between the writers of both nations.

The MoU outlines several initiatives, including reciprocal visits by writers, poets, intellectuals, and scholars, as well as book fairs, conferences, and seminars on shared literary topics through a rotating mechanism. Furthermore, it encompasses collaboration on translation and publication of literary works, mutual posting of poems and literary pieces on official websites, and literary training courses, to name a few.

Kohdayar Marri, Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam, expressed his optimism that the MoU will foster closer ties between the two countries while also creating and strengthening literary bonds. He further conveyed his hope for translations of renowned Pakistani poets and writers into Vietnamese, alongside the translation, publication, and introduction of Vietnam’s literary masterpieces to readers in Pakistan.
