Secretary Duong Hiep Hung of the Nhon Hai Commune Party Committee in Quy Nhon City, the provincial capital, witnessed and announced the journey of over 30 sea turtle hatchlings as they made their way towards the vast ocean on Tuesday morning.

Hung described the heartwarming scene as crowds of residents gathered on the beach, their eyes filled with wonder as they witnessed the tiny creatures embark on their first adventure.

Local conservationists and officials, upon learning of the hatching, promptly arrived at the beach to ensure the safety and successful release of the baby turtles into their natural habitat.

These little ones marked the first turtle hatchlings to grace the commune this year, a significant event for the community.

“They’ve hatched from the eggs laid by a mother turtle on May 21,” Hung shared, his voice filled with joy and pride.

The baby turtles, each with their unique strength and determination, ventured into the ocean. The weaker ones were gently assisted by locals and conservationists, ensuring they, too, reached their watery home.

The official emphasized the commune’s ongoing collaboration with relevant units to encourage residents and tourists alike to protect nesting and hatching areas for these magnificent creatures, striving to boost their population.

“It’s a magical moment,” shared Tran Van Nhat, a native of Nhon Hai Commune. “The baby turtles are adorable, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have witnessed them taking their first steps into the sea. We’re all excited to play a part in ensuring their safe passage.”

The mother turtle, a true hero of this story, made her way onto the beach on the evenings of May 21 and June 6, leaving her mark in the sand and the hearts of the community. Each time, she laid over 100 eggs, a true labor of love before returning to the ocean. In total, she blessed the commune with around 400 eggs, a true miracle.
