Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Tourism Department, announced that the upcoming festival will be held at Bien Dong (East Sea) Park. The opening ceremony, commencing at 7:30 pm on March 28th, promises to dazzle attendees with vibrant art performances and unique culinary showcases. This includes exciting bartender demonstrations and noodle-making displays.
During the festival, visitors will be treated to a variety of culinary spaces, each celebrating the local cuisine, specialties from different Vietnamese regions, and international delicacies. A special Da Nang Food Fun experiential zone will offer a hands-on approach, allowing participants to try their hand at preparing traditional dishes such as banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancakes), goi cuon (fresh spring rolls), and banh it (sticky rice dumplings).

The Da Nang Food Tour – The Chef Competition will be a highlight, bringing together over 20 professional and amateur cooks from the hospitality and restaurant industries. This event will not only showcase their culinary prowess but also their creativity in dish presentation and storytelling.
Another exciting feature is the Da Nang Food Tour Culinary Passport program. Visitors can collect stamps in their passports and redeem them for exclusive gifts. The Tourism Department, in collaboration with local food businesses, will issue 5,000 bilingual culinary passports. These passports will offer special discounts at select restaurants and transportation incentives with the “Da Nang Food Tour” discount code for Xanh SM taxis. Collecting 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 stamps will also make participants eligible for various rewards.
Hanh shared that Da Nang has an exciting lineup of festivals and special events planned for 2025, especially in March. The Food Tour Festival is a novel addition, aiming to elevate the city’s culinary tourism scene by promoting local, Vietnamese, and international cuisines. The ultimate goal is to establish Da Nang as a renowned food tourism destination.
For 2025, Da Nang targets attracting 11.9 million visitors, a 10% increase from the previous year. Of these, 4.8 million are expected to be international tourists. The revenue projections for accommodation, dining, and travel services are set to exceed 36 trillion VND (over 1.4 billion USD), signifying a promising year for the city’s tourism industry.
