According to VBA’s regulations, athletes must be quarantined at the hotel for 14 days and test negative for COVID-19 three times before playing in this year’s season.
Therefore, it has been difficult for Nha Trang Dolphins to find a new foreign player to replace Devin Harris, who is unable to compete due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Saigon Heat has just welcomed back Joshua Keyes, one of the key members who helped the team defend its championship last year.
This left Thai player Dasom available for other teams, as he was previously selected by Saigon Heat to replace Keyes.
The Thai athlete thus became the missing piece that Nha Trang Dolphins was looking for.
At 1.88 meters tall, Dasom impressed fans not only with his amazing skills but also his good looks.
He was the third runner-up of Mister Supranational 2018 and had worked in show business for a while before deciding that basketball was his true passion.
Dasom said he gets up at 4:00 every morning to practice and sharpen his skills.
The foreign player had a promising debut playing for Nha Trang Dolphins with 14 points and two steals.

Thanh Dat lost his touch
Despite Dasom’s contribution, Nha Trang Dolphins was not able to score a victory over Cantho Catfish, and Thanh Dat’s underwhelming performance was partly attributed to the loss.
Dat was not able to score any points during the first three quarters, while the only two points he scored were from free throws.
In the last three games, Dat hit at least 20 points in each game.
Meanwhile, Cantho Catfish’s rookie Nguyen Van Vinh showed his growth with an impressive performance.
Vinh even outshined Jared Michael Sam and Jarvis Terrell Summers with 22 points and five steals in total.
The 21-year-old player sank six out of seven three-point attempts and played an even more important role after Summers had an injury in the third quarter.
Thanks to his contribution, fans are expecting to see more of Vinh in the future.
