Hue Imperial City’s culture to be spotlighted in Hanoi’s Old Quarter

NDO – The charm of Hue Imperial City’s culture will be spotlighted at a programme to be held in Hanoi’s Old Quarter from November 23 to December 2.

Accordingly, a show featuring Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) designs and traditional music of Vietnam’s north and central regions will be staged in font of the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Centre, 50 Dao Duy Tu street, Hoan Kiem district.

A musical event will take place on the following day, featuring beautiful melodies of northern folk music as well as ancient tunes of Nha Nhac (Hue royal court music), which was honoured with a place on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

A collection of Hue traditional costumes of Doctor Thai Kim Lan and a collection of instrumentals of Hue royal court music will also be introduced to the public on the occasion.

Hosted by the Management Board of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, the programme aims to strengthen cultural cooperation and exchange between the capital city of Hanoi and Hue Imperial City, both possess many UNESCO-recognised cultural heritages.
