The Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s annual fair, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from July 17-23, is a cultural extravaganza featuring over 600 events. This year, the Consulate General of Vietnam presented a unique showcase, drawing cinephiles and literature enthusiasts alike.
The Vietnamese booth, designed with a cinematic flair, exhibited a captivating range of classic and contemporary literary works. These included books that have been adapted into films or translated into multiple languages, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Vietnamese storytelling. The display also featured titles highlighting Vietnam’s culture, arts, tourism, and culinary delights, among them, English and Chinese editions of Vietnam Pictorial by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).
Creating an immersive “Vietnam Space,” the Consulate General curated a special area within the booth dedicated to historical and cultural books. This section aimed to introduce and promote the Southeast Asian nation to local and international visitors, offering a window into Vietnam’s vibrant heritage and artistic scene.
Vietnamese Consul General Le Duc Hanh, in an interview with VNA, emphasized the Consulate’s mission to bring Vietnam to the global stage, aligning with the Party’s and State’s cultural diplomacy vision.
The 2023 fair witnessed an impressive turnout, attracting nearly 1 million visitors over seven captivating days.
