The Vietnamese booth showcased a variety of authentic dishes, including banh mi (Vietnamese baguettes), bun cha (grilled pork meatballs with vermicelli noodles), nem cuon (fresh spring rolls), coffee, and tropical fruit juice. These offerings garnered the interest of fair-goers.

In addition to the culinary delights, the event featured musical performances and a captivating “ao dai” (Vietnamese traditional dress) show, presented by overseas Vietnamese. Notable figures, including Miss Intercontinental Vietnam 2022 Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc and Miss Intercontinental Malaysia Lindsey Yap, also took part in the festivities.

Nguyen Ba Tan, the First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, emphasized the Party and State’s unwavering attention towards the Vietnamese community abroad. This community is considered an integral part of the national unity bloc and plays a vital role in strengthening cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Malaysia.

Tan commended the association for its initiatives in organizing activities that foster connections among overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia, ultimately fostering a united community and promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy between the two nations.

The event is part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-Vietnam diplomatic relations, as well as the one-year anniversary of the establishment of the Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association.

The “Taste of Sambal” fair, an annual Malaysian food festival, effectively showcases the cultural diversity of this Southeast Asian country. The festival attracts numerous renowned chefs and culinary experts from around the world.
