The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced that the scheduled date for the match is June 15th, and the venue will be updated at a later time.
This marks the first international match for the Vietnamese national football team since the appointment of new head coach Philippe Troussier in February.
The French manager led the Vietnamese U22 team to defend the men’s football gold medal at the 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games that just closed in Cambodia earlier this week, but he failed.
His U22 team finished the SEA Games with only a bronze medal.
In anticipation of the June 15 match, the Vietnamese national football team players are scheduled to regroup on June 7.
The VFF has carried out a plan to issue tickets for the friendly.
The football governing body announced that Vietnam will play two additional international friendlies in September and October of this year. This is before the two matches for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers in November, which will occur on November 13th and 21st, respectively.
Vietnam’s opponents for upcoming matches will be decided during a drawing that will take place in July.
