Association Promotes Vietnam-RoK Exchanges, Cooperation

The Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) Friendship Association is committed to organizing even more cultural exchange events to foster greater mutual understanding and support between the people of both nations.

The association conducted its third congress for the 2023-28 term on December 8. During this period, it aims to reform its operational methods and content, and promote cultural, educational, scientific, technological, tourism, and investment exchanges and cooperation.

It also plans to enhance exchange and cooperation programs between Vietnamese and Korean educational institutions, strengthen collaboration with the RoK Consulate General in HCM City, and coordinate with Korean and Vietnamese organizations and companies in the southern metropolis to host charity and trade-investment promotion events.

The congress elected a 15-member executive committee for the tenure, with Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, head of the municipal Party Committee’s Information and Education Board, as president.

In his remarks, Khue stated that since its establishment in 1995, the association has experienced positive developments. In the previous term, it made practical contributions to people-to-people exchanges in the city.

It established three new branches, namely the Vietnam – Korea Entrepreneurs Friendship Club, the Club of HCM City Labor Culture House, and the Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association at the University of Foreign Trade.

The association maintained regular activities such as celebrating the RoK National Day and the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic relations. It also participated in festivals, community events, and charity activities organized by Korean and Vietnamese organizations./.
