The resounding victory marked Vietnam’s eighth gold medal in the SEA Games Women’s Football since 2001, making them the most successful team in the region’s history. The remarkable achievement highlights their impressive run of success in women’s football.

The nation only took a break from the top spot on the podium in 2007 and 2013, when they won the silver medal, and in 2011 and 2015, when hosts Indonesia and Singapore ruled out women’s football, respectively.

Following their title defense, the Vietnam Football Federation announced cash rewards totaling VND3.6 billion ($153,510) for the national women’s football team. This reward was divided between the final game triumph and wins in the group stage and semifinals, with VND2 billion ($85,285) being allocated for the former and VND1.6 billion ($68,225) for the latter.
