The second Namaste Vietnam Festival will feature the participation of two Indian classical dance troupes – Qawwali and Kuchipudi, announced Madan Mohan Sethi, consul general of India in Ho Chi Minh City, during a press conference on August 9.
Kuchipudi, a classical Indian dance style originating from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Qawwali, a popular music genre from the Middle East, will showcase their performances at the festival.
The festival will also see the presence of 20 prominent Indian directors and actors including Anupam Kher, Alisha Chinoi, Yuvika Chaudhary, and Hansal Mehta, who will contribute to the event, Sethi added.
According to Sethi, the festival aims to foster a better understanding between India and Vietnam, and to strengthen bilateral relations through collaborations such as the establishment of Bollywood film studios in Da Lat and Nha Trang, tourism promotions, and cultural exchanges.
The first Namaste Vietnam Festival was successfully organized in 2022 by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, the HCM City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO), and the Vietnam-India Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City.
The upcoming second edition of the Namaste Vietnam Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from August 12 to 15, then move on to Da Lat city on August 16, and conclude in Tuy Hoa city on August 17.
Ha Long Carnival opens in Quang Ninh
The Ha Long Carnival, a highlight of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism week 2019, opened in Bai Chay and Hon Gai tourism area in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 28.
