The opening ceremony of the event was addressed by Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In his speech, he emphasized that the contest aims to inspire photographers to create exceptional works that possess both rich content and artistic value. These works will not only serve the cultural and spiritual life of the Vietnamese people but also promote the beauty of Vietnam’s land and people to the world.

The biennial event provides a platform for photographers from all over the country to showcase their best photographic artworks to both national and international audiences. Additionally, it serves as an opportunity to summarize and evaluate the achievements of Vietnamese photography over the past two years.

The “Vietnam Art Photo Contest and Exhibition 2024” is open to both professional and non-professional photographers who are Vietnamese citizens or overseas Vietnamese and are at least 18 years old.

Entries for the contest must have been taken between August 2022 and June 2024. They will be judged in two categories: realistic and conceptual photos. The content of the entries should reflect various aspects of contemporary life in Vietnam, such as people, culture, landscape, nature, national construction and defense, efforts in the fight against natural disasters and epidemics, and other topics related to the values of truth, goodness, and beauty.

The submission period for the contest is from May 2 to July 15, 2024. Participants can submit their entries at anhnghethuatvietnam2024.vn.
