Over 200 Students Participate in Photography Contest During Ho Chi Minh City Double-Decker Tour
On Sunday, over 200 students from multiple schools gathered to compete in a photography contest, traveling to the location on multiple double-decker buses.
This year’s final round of the Teenagers Photo Contest, which is organized each academic year, took the finalists on a double-decker bus tour around Ho Chi Minh City. On the tour, they visited many popular downtown destinations, such as the Saigon Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and the iconic Ben Thanh Market. It was a great opportunity for the finalists to experience the city and capture stunning photos of the local culture.
During the journey, the contestants were tasked with taking photos from moving buses, which comprised 70% of their final scores.

The remaining 30% of the content was sourced from photographs taken around Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
Each contestant was required to select and submit 10-15 photos at the conclusion of the competition session.
The final results are scheduled to be announced in May 2023.

I feel that many places I have visited, such as the Reunification Palace and Bach Dang Wharf, are beautiful in a completely unique and captivating manner. These sites are so distinct and special, with each location offering a completely different atmosphere and experience. From the grand architecture of the Reunification Palace to the timeless tranquility of Bach Dang Wharf, I am mesmerized by the beauty of these places.
Le Minh Thuan, a student from Dong Khoi Middle School, had an interesting and challenging experience taking photos on a double-decker bus. He commented that it was a unique and exciting experience that he will remember for years to come.
It was difficult to take pictures while the vehicle was in motion, particularly to focus on the subject and to get the right frame, necessitating photographers to be skilled at using cameras.

Tran Huu Nguyen, from Tran Hung Dao Middle School, noted that the photographers were restricted to the bus deck and had a limited range of angles from which to take their shots of the subject.
Therefore, the contestants must be agile and rapid in order to spot stunning frames and details on their journey,” Nguyen added.

This year’s final round of the Teenagers Photo Contest, organized annually, treated the finalists to a memorable double-decker bus tour of Ho Chi Minh City. The group was taken to some of the city’s most popular attractions, including the Saigon Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and the iconic Ben Thanh Market.
During the journey, the contestants had to snap photos from speeding buses, which accounted for 70% of their final scores.

He revealed that it offered him new perspectives on the city’s seemingly familiar landmarks. The southern metropolis is home to many iconic attractions, but Khoa found that a different point of view can make them seem even more special.
“It’s an invigorating feeling,” declared Khoa.
