The Embassy of Vietnam in Italy is hosting an exhibition featuring 30 oil and lacquer paintings that showcase the country and its people. This event, which opened on June 11th, was inaugurated by Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy, Duong Hai Hung. In his speech, Ambassador Duong highlighted the role of art in bridging the connection between the Vietnamese and Italian people. The exhibition is part of a series of diplomatic and cultural activities organized by the embassy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Italy (1973-2023).

Renowned artist Thanh, who was invited by Ambassador Duong, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to conduct this exhibition and create works for the Presidents of Italy, Malta, and Cyprus. In addition to Passignano, the exhibition will also be organized in the towns of Umbria and Assisi in the Perugia province from June 11th to 15th.

Thanh, an internationally acclaimed artist, is known for her unique style that combines Asian and European influences. Having studied at l’Ecole de Beaux Arts, Indochine, and the Vietnam Academy of Fine Arts, she has created over 1,800 paintings that depict traditional motifs of the natural world, women, children, and flowers. Her use of vibrant colors, emotional value, and touches of expressive semi-abstraction make her paintings truly captivating.

Thanh’s talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious “International Excellence of Art of CFMI” in the United States and France in 1995 and 1997, as well as the “Glory of the Nation” award in Vietnam in 2007.
