The film “Fly Me to the Moon” had its global debut at the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival in October 2023 and was later released in theaters in Hong Kong, China, on April 11. This heartwarming story will compete in the Asian films category at the upcoming DANAFF II, a prestigious film festival held in the beautiful central city of Da Nang from July 2 to July 7.
One of the notable cast members of “Fly Me to the Moon” is Hsu En Yi, the talented daughter of retired actress and occupational therapist Ann Bridgewater. Hsu En Yi has already made a name for herself in the film industry, particularly with her role in “The Day We Lit Up the Sky.” Her captivating performance in this film garnered her the Best Newcomer award at the fourth Golden Crane Awards, presented during the Chinese Japan International Festival in 2021.
Hsu En Yi’s presence adds to the excitement of DANAFF II, which will feature 63 Vietnamese and international films. The Asian films category, including “Fly Me to the Moon,” will be judged by a renowned Asian panel, while Vietnamese films will be evaluated by local experts. All screenings at the festival are free of charge, making it accessible to all cinema enthusiasts.
DANAFF II is proudly co-organized by the Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development, the Da Nang administration, and the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC). This year marks the second edition of the festival, building upon the success of its inaugural event in 2023. With a diverse range of films and talented actors like Hsu En Yi in attendance, DANAFF II promises to be a memorable celebration of cinema.
