During the semi-final play-offs of the VBA 2022, teams compete in a best-of-three format.

Hanoi Buffaloes claimed a victory over Nha Trang Dolphins in their first semi-final with the total scoring of 73-67.

Jeffery Stubbs of Hanoi Buffaloes was named MVP of the match even though he only succeeded in three out of 21 shots.

Stubbs said he was very surprised himself and thought that the MVP would be his teammate Tam Dinh, who scored 21 points.

“I did coordinate well with my teammates in both defense and offense tactics, but if I could, I would give the MVP title to Tam Dinh because he stood out and scored the most points for the team,” the foreign player stated.

Despite missing the shots, Stubbs did contribute a lot to the team’s overall victory.

The American player used his speed to close in on the net of Nha Trang Dolphins.

He committed multiple fouls, but his opponents also did the same as they tried to stop his dangerous attacks.

Stubbs was able to sink all eight out of eight free throws in the match.

He also had nine assists, eight rebounds, and nine steals.
