Twenty exceptional films will be competing for the Asian Film Award and Vietnamese Film Award categories at the upcoming event.

Local people will have the opportunity to watch 89 films – including the 20 nominees – for free at all cinema theatres, such as Le Do, CGV, Galaxy, and APEC Park.

This event will feature a series of informative workshops focused on the growth and collaboration of the film industry. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the latest trends and strategies to further their success in the industry. The workshops will provide an opportunity for all involved to learn and share their knowledge and experiences.

DANAFF 2023 aims to identify and celebrate outstanding Vietnamese and Asian-Pacific cinematic works, introduce them to the public, and foster the development of emerging talents in the region.

In his opening speech, Le Trung Chinh, Head of the Da Nang Administration, noted that by hosting the festival, Da Nang wishes to create a regional and international brand in the field of cinema, thereby contributing to the promotion of integration and cooperation within the industry.

This is an ideal platform for domestic and international professional cinematographers to share ideas, explore collaboration opportunities, and expand the film market, said Chinh. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for them to strengthen their network, gain access to the latest industry updates, and access professional resources.

The festival is scheduled to run through to May 13.
