The prestigious International Association of Athletics Federations, the esteemed organizer of the highly-anticipated 2023 World Athletics Championships, has graciously extended an invitation to Vietnam to partake in the illustrious competition. However, it is worth noting that, unfortunately, no Vietnamese athletes have managed to fulfill this year’s stringent qualification criteria.

Oanh, an esteemed athlete, will be participating in the women’s 1,500m hurdle event, scheduled to start on Saturday (local time). She is renowned for her numerous accolades in the field of running.

A total of 58 runners, including Faith Kipyegon, the reigning Olympic and World Athletics Championships champion, will be participating in the women’s 1,500m hurdle event.

The category provides Oanh with a valuable opportunity to gain experience and prepare for the upcoming 19th Asian Games (ASIAD) in China next month.

At the 2023 Southeast Asian Games held in Cambodia in May, athlete Oanh achieved an impressive feat by winning four gold medals in the women’s hurdling events. She emerged victorious in the 1,500m, 3,000m, 5,000m, and 10,000m races.

At the Games, she achieved an unprecedented feat by becoming the inaugural athlete to clinch gold medals in both the 1,500m and 3,000m women’s races within approximately 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, despite her participation in the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships held in Thailand from July 12 to 16, she did not win any medals.

The World Athletics Championships this year will be held in Budapest, Hungary. It is expected to draw participation from over 2,000 runners representing around 200 countries and territories.
