Prominent Vietnamese brands, including VinFast, Hoa Phat, Viettel, Vinamilk, and GrowMax, have consistently expanded their market presence domestically, ventured into new export markets, and established robust production and value chains. All while making significant contributions to the nation’s economic prosperity.
As a pivotal member of the Vingroup conglomerate, VinFast embodies a visionary outlook, aspiring to emerge as a preeminent smart electric vehicle brand. Their trajectory is not just confined to dominating the domestic market but also entails substantial inroads on the international front. In August 2023, VinFast made its mark by exporting over 1,000 VF34 electric vehicles to Indonesia. Taking another bold step forward in October 2024, VinFast dispatched a fleet of electric cars to the Philippines, signifying a major milestone in their global expansion and underscoring their burgeoning competitiveness within Southeast Asia.
VinFast’s aspirations extend far beyond, with a strategic plan to establish a presence in at least 50 countries worldwide. Their global footprint is further evidenced by the establishment of electric vehicle production plants in the US, India, and Indonesia, in addition to their stronghold in Vietnam.
Similarly, Bibica Joint Stock Company, a cherished national brand in Vietnam, is steadily earning recognition among global consumers. Their products have successfully penetrated 17 diverse markets, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, the US, China, and Thailand. Nguyen Quoc Hoang, CEO of Bibica, revealed that their confectionery delights have recently found a place in Walmart’s network in China, marking a significant milestone.

Despite facing challenges in accessing raw materials such as butter, milk, or flour, Vietnamese enterprises like Bibica have charted their own course by innovatively utilizing tropical agricultural products and leveraging national branding. Their perseverance has paid off with the successful development of biscuits and crispy coconut cookies that have garnered widespread acclaim. Riding on the industry’s rapid expansion, Bibica’s export turnover in 2024 is projected to reach an impressive 5.5 million USD, reflecting a substantial 25-35% increase from 2023 and contributing 8% to the company’s total revenue.
Lafooco, a Long An-based export processing and production company, has successfully transitioned from exporting raw cashews to diversifying into processed cashew products. Their commitment to excellence has been rewarded, with several of their offerings ranking among the Top 100 best-selling cashews on Amazon. Building on this success, Lafooco expanded its horizons by importing nuts from renowned farms in the US, including almonds, walnuts, and pistachios, after forging long-term partnerships with prominent supermarket chains like Vanguard (China), Sungiven (China), and T&T (Canada).
In their pursuit of continuous innovation, Lafooco is diversifying its product portfolio to encompass dried pineapples, dried mangoes, and vacuum-fried fruits and vegetables. Their products have gained traction in over 16 countries, and the company has set its sights on further expansion in Singapore.
Chu noodles have long been a source of pride for the people of Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang. This humble dish, crafted from a harmonious blend of rice and water sourced from the mountainous Luc River, has not only become a local favorite but also earned its place in several international markets. It holds a special place in the hearts of many Vietnamese families, especially during the Lunar New Year, as an affordable and delectable treat.
Nguyen Van Nam, Chairman of the Board at the Nam The Chu Noodle Production and Consumption Cooperative in Nam Duong commune of Luc Ngan, shared their journey to meet both domestic and export standards. In addition to procuring high-quality ingredients and expanding production, the cooperative has invested in new technology to enhance productivity and product quality. This strategic move has empowered them to better meet market demands, as affirmed by Nam.
The cooperative consistently produces and sells an impressive average of 3.5 to 4 tonnes of noodles daily, solidifying their position in the market. Their products are safeguarded by collective trademarks in various countries, including Japan, the Republic of Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and several European nations, such as Russia, the UK, France, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Additionally, they have forged alliances with numerous prominent enterprises and supermarkets, both within Vietnam and abroad, further cementing their success.
To propel these global aspirations, experts emphasize the pivotal role of technological innovation and creativity in production. This is the key for businesses to thrive in the international arena, ensuring that Vietnamese products continue to make their mark on the world stage.
