The warning is aimed to encourage passengers to report their health condition truthfully to help curb the spread of Covid-19.

When a passenger is found deliberately lying or hiding the information about Covid-19 infection, Vietnam Airlines will inform the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). As a result, a permanent ban on using the carrier’s flights will be imposed.

Passengers taking Vietnam Airlines flights are asked to wear face masks before and during the flight. The carrier will turn down check-in for those who do not have a face mask.

Last week, all crew members and passengers of a flight from London to HCM City were quarantined because of a young woman with Covid-19 symptoms.

The information about her suspected Covid-19 symptoms such as cough and fever was reported to Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s Disease Control Centre by her parents after she was already in the air for two hours.

Luckily, she tested negative for the virus.
