Unique experience with the first sandstone park in Vietnam

Sand Park “Forgotten Land” in Phan Thiet is located on Nguyen Thong Street, Phu Hai Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan province. Under the theme “Fairytales and legends of Vietnam and the world”, the Forgotten Land Sand Park project brings the audience to feel the intersection between pure Vietnamese culture and Western culture through story crafted from sand sculputures.
Mr. Le Anh Tuan – Director of Cat Viet Art Co., Ltd, which responsible for building of Sand Park “Forgotten Land” said: “Sandstone sculpture is an art that has been prevalent throughout the world and is organized annually in major countries such as USA, Australia, Canada, Japan and so on. The idea of ​​building sand park in Binh Thuan emerged after a America trip, when I have the opportunity to come to Annual competition for the world’s leading sand sculpture took place in Florida beach, USA in 2015. At that time I thought: Vietnam has beach spread along the country and abundant sand and water source, so why not use these available materials to organize contests, exhibitions, create more special tourism products for the homeland? “
After a long time exploring and having many field trips with foreign artisans, Cat Viet Arts chose the first destination as Binh Thuan with rich red sand, which is excellent materials for creative artisans. The unique colors and adhesion of sand have convinced the leading artists to come to Binh Thuan, Vietnam; make them willing to dedicate their talents every year.
Starting with the sand sculpture event in Tien Hai Village, Tien Thanh Commune, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, Cat Viet Arts invited two artisans including Mac David artists (from Belgium) and Leonardo Ugolini (from Italy) to exchange, learn and share sculpture experiences with the teachers and students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts. King Kong’s sculpture having meticulous detail was launched and unexpectedly attracted hundreds of visitors to enjoy.

The interest of visitors for sculpture art has created beliefs and encourages Cat Viet Arts Co., Ltd. “committed”, decided to invest in building the first sand park in Vietnam. 
More than a dozen sand sculpture artists with over 10 years of experience, that won many awards from the United States, Japan, Russia, Canada, Brazil, Singapore gathered here to perform the impressive sand sculpture statue at the park. Sand statue is sculptured from 100% natural sand, which just only be compressed by sand and water and not mixed any additives.
Professional sculptors sculpted huge blocks of sand into lively art works on an area of ​​about 1.3 hectares. This is the first large-scale sand park deployed in Binh Thuan to create new products for tourism.
Under the theme “Fairy tales and myths of both Vietnam and the world,” Sand Park will lead you into the world of childhood fairy tales such as fox and crow, Son Tinh – Thuy Tinh, Beauty and Beast; and you will be impressed by the meticulous that the ingenious author has blown soul into each work. Thus, with the meaning of the theme brought, regardless of the West or the East, the sand statues will tell you those stories, creating a unique cultural interference than ever.
