Exploring the Marvels of Na Hang-Lam Binh National Site

Located among vast forests along the banks of Gam and Nang rivers, Na Hang – Lam Binh is a nature reserve with a diverse ecosystem and numerous rare animals and plants. It also features picturesque caves, enchanting waterfalls, and unique cultural customs of the Tay, Dao, and Mong ethnic minority groups.

The nature reserve covers several communes in Lam Binh District and Na Hang District, including Lang Can, Khuon Ha, Thuong Lam, Phuc Yen, Nang Kha, Thanh Tuong, Son Phu, Hong Thai, Thuong Nong, Thuong Giap, Yen Hoa, Con Lon, Sinh Long, and Khau Tinh.

The famous landscapes in the area are steeped in legends, adding to their allure and mystique. Visitors can explore renowned waterfalls like Nam Me and Nam Nhi, as well as immerse themselves in the magical realms with tales of Tien – Khach and 99 mountains. Other attractions include the enchanting story of Phac Phien flowers and the romantic love story at Pac Ban waterfall.

Na Hang – Lam Binh nature reserve is also rich in archaeological relics from the Neolithic and metal ages. Unearthed burial services and intricately carved artifacts showcase the ingenuity and prosperity of past inhabitants.

The reserve also boasts exquisite architectural treasures from the Tran, Le, and Nguyen feudal dynasties, such as pagodas and temples. The local culture is diverse, with numerous fairy tales and folk legends associated with the mountains, rivers, and streams.

The area is home to the Tay and Dao ethnic minority people, renowned for their traditional handicrafts and occupations. Visitors can partake in traditional festivals, savor local delicacies, and immerse themselves in the daily lives and customs of the locals.

With its unspoiled scenery, traditional stilt houses, terraced fields, waterfalls, caves, and diverse wildlife, Na Hang – Lam Binh nature reserve offers an unforgettable and awe-inspiring visit. The reserve is a sanctuary for numerous rare species, including the Tonkin snub-nosed monkey, and boasts the largest primary forest in northern Vietnam.

The designation of Na Hang – Lam Binh reserve as a national special tourist attraction has not only contributed to its development but also to the tourism sector of Tuyen Quang Province. The province is currently preparing a dossier to seek UNESCO recognition of Ba Be-Na Hang as a world natural heritage site.

Provincial agencies and local authorities are diligently working to conserve and promote the values of the nature reserve, develop tourist areas and destinations, and enhance tourism products. The aim is to attract more investment, create jobs, and contribute to the economic development of the region.

In Lam Binh District, the local People’s Committee has devised a plan to promote the tourism potential of the district, establish its tourism brand, and improve the quality of services. The district is striving to attract more visitors and investment into the tourism sector.

Similarly, Na Hang District is focused on developing its tourism potential, finalizing detailed plans for tourist areas and destinations, and preserving and promoting national relic sites. The district aims to attract over 130,000 visitors and generate over VND100 billion per year by 2020.
